There is an excellent price on a Disney Cruise, from Vancouver down the California coast. It sails September 10th for 6 nights. The current price for 2 adults & 2 kids is under $3000 for a selection of great rooms with portholes/window views.
Disney is also doing some special Pixar animation theme cruises this fall. I see on their website some discounted cruises for Canadians. (15%).
A Disney Cruise is like no other. It is so focused on total family fun. There is something for everyone. From Tequila tastings in the Cadillac Lounge for the grown ups, to Character Breakfasts for the kids. I would definitely recommend it.
Now our cruise was to Alaska, and this one is California, but this one is nearly half price.
September is an amazing time of year to travel, if you are able.

Cheapest Vacation Ever!
I don't think you could camp in Saskatchewan this cheap for a week. So... here you go, fly Minot, ND to Phoenix Arizona on September 2nd, 2012 and return on September 9th. That's a week in the desert sun. Stay at the Hampton Inn Glendale/Westgate, which is located right there on the property of the University of Phoenix Stadium (Home of the Arizona Cardinals) and the Jobing.com arena for $401 per person (Tax, hotel & airfare included.) Now of course there is no hockey at this time of year, but it is a great hotel with a great (small) pool and awesome breakfast. You'll also miss the first regular season game of the NFL as it is played Sept 9th, after your plane departs, but still.... great hotel. In the heart of the action. I bet there is some baseball going on, but I didn't look.
Another option for a resort, same dates, is the Arizona Biltmore. It's a Waldorf Astoria, 5 star hotel. Shhhhhwanky! That will set you back $520 per person, all in. Or, stay at the uber amazing Westin Kierland resort. It has an incredible golf course on site and some seriously high end shopping right next door in the Kierland Commons (shopping district). Westin is $655. Yes... $655 gets you the round trip airfare taxes & 7 nights in a luxury hotel. $655 is what you would expect to pay for just 2 nights in that hotel. I can personally recommend this hotel as I spent New Year's eve there this year. Amazing! The Westin has fine dining, outdoor fireplaces, golf lessons, a lazy river, spa, lounges and so much more.
For an extra $200 you can add a car for a week. These prices are currently available at Allegiant.com.
It's Allegiant Airlines. You fly into the Mesa Airport. It's all very nice and simple.
To contrast and showcase this gem of a bargain, see today's Westjetvacation.com package price. Exactly the same hotels I noted above.
It's all about timing, and I like to chase the bargain. Prices are a little higher out of Grand Forks & Bismark.

Vegas, again
Stumbled across an amazing Vegas deal again. It's Westjet vacations, from Winnipeg on May 28th or on June 18th. Each date has numerous hotels to choose from and low taxes. May 28th, you could stay at the PARIS hotel (amazing!! and right across from Bellagio) for $339, plus $123in taxes. So, that's 4 nights, flight and hotel and all taxes in for $462 per person. I have never seen it that cheap. Yes, you can do Allegiant for that price out of Grand Forks or Minot, but... this is better.

Making a wish
Have you ever made a wish and had it come true? Did it come true because of some magical spell or because you had the right combination of ruby slippers and the astrological star alignment? Or could it perhaps have come true because you took action? Are we all truly the masters of our own destinies?
Now, there are numerous cliches in regards to wishes, or the act of wishing, but what do you subscribe to? Personally, I think I'm of the belief that you should "be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it." Speaking very pragmatically, I think that if you stay focused on your goal (the wish) and you keep it in sight while moving forward, the likelihood of connecting with your goal in the end, is very good. "Keep your eye on the prize," as they say.
Think of what they teach you in sports. Take golf for example. If you focus on the water hazard, and fear the water hazard, you are going to land in the water hazard. But if you keep your eye on the green, and focus on the green, the odds are much better that you'll reach the green. In hockey, shoot at the goalie and you will hit the goalie. See past the goalie to the opening in the net and you may just hit the opening!
In my dreams, I could see my restaurant as a happening place. People lined up to dine with us... friendly greetings and compliments to the kitchen. I could see the vibe, hear the music and feel the energy. But when I bought the place, it appeared small, dark, overlooked and stuck in the past. We took steps regularly and carefully with the goal in mind and made it happen! It's now and has been for several years already, THE best & most well known diner around. Kids, families and first dates pack the place every night. Great food and a fun atmosphere. I love it. It really has the vibe I was wishing for! Yet some days it still overwhelms me. What have I done? We're too busy! How can I keep up? And then I remember, this was my wish. My dream has come true! But I think I know, it was hard work, and maybe just a pinch of luck that got us here. I believe it's the very same formula that will keep us going!

Vegas & Westjet
A very classy combination. Guaranteed a good time.
Check out this deal:
I don't think I've seen a better Westjet deal. And this is a fabulous hotel. No discount Imperial palace here! LOL.
I'll go. Who wants to go with me?

Never been to Miami
At this price, this looks like a good time. A quick little get away from the everyday.
I spied this one on Redtag.ca on Sunday afternoon. While I've never been to Miami, it sounds like a great hotel on the beach. What could be better for a quick break in the sun?
